| This card offers no annual fee and a 0% introductory rate that applies to all transactions for six months (which is a rare benefit). Although it has a reasonable interest rate for a student card, there is a minimum cap of 20.24% for cash advances. So no matter how low the Prime Rate falls (the APR is tied to the Prime Rate), the interest rate will not go below the minimum cap. Through the reward program, cardholders earn a rebate of 1% for purchases. The maximum amount of rebates that can be redeemed is $2,500 per vehicle and any unused rebates expire in 5 years. | Through the rebate program, cardholders earn a cash award that varies according to the amount spent per year. Cardholders are awarded a 0.25% rebate for the first $2,000; 0.5% for amounts over $2,000 and up to $6,000; and 1.5% for purchases over $6,000 up to $50,000. An additional 0.5% rebate is added for any billing period in which the account carries a balance - so only those who spend up to $50,000 a year and carry a balance will be able to take advantage of the 2% cash back rebate. The introductory rate for purchases varies according to the applicants credit history, and will be 15 months, 12 months, or 6 months. | |
